Boundless Suite I Essentials (GS191)



Learn the foundations on how to deploy, configure, and manage a GeoServer instance. This course offers a basic look at the functionality of GeoServer, part of Boundless Suite.

The course is divided into four modules, covering publishing data, administration and security, tools for data management, and managing the application itself.

  • GS101: Data Publishing

  • GS102: Administration

  • GS103: Data Management

  • GS104: Application

Throughout the course, students will be performing exercises to practice what they have been learning. Videos accompany the exercise sections to guide the students through the required steps.

Familiarity with basic GIS concepts and OGC services are required. Those who wish a more thorough look at GeoServer with no prerequisites should enroll in the full Boundless Suite I course.

Students will download and run a Linux virtual machine with Boundless Suite installed. This will require a Windows, OS X or Linux computer with VirtualBox installed.

This course is equivalent to 16 hours of classroom instruction. Over two hours of video content is included. Boundless instructors will be available to answer any course-related questions.

This course does not provide access to the Boundless GeoServer Certification Exam. Those wishing to take this exam should enroll in the full Boundless Suite I course.

This course will expire 6 months from the date of purchase. Students will have unlimited access to the course during this time.
